Reducing Digital Divide in Armenia
The existing miserably low bandwidth of the WAN (Wide Area Network) connection of the Armenian scientific institutions to the outer world renders almost impossible the work of the national specialists in the international VOs. ArmeSFo has raised this problem at the International Committee for Future Accelerators – Standing Committee on Inter-Regional Connectivity (ICFA-SCIC). By the suggestion of Committee, a presentation on the Grid activity and Digital Divide in Armenia was given by Ara Grigoryan at the CERN meeting of ICFA-SCIC on 01 October 2004.
